Individual Therapy for Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Motherhood & More
Make Space for Personalized Therapy with The Collective by Francesca Emma
Sometimes you know exactly what you want help with. Other times, you just know you don’t feel like yourself.
Individual therapy gives you space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and work through the patterns affecting how you feel about yourself, your body, your relationships, and your life.
For teens, these struggles can be especially difficult to navigate. Social media, peer pressure, puberty, and the desire to fit in can all influence how young people see themselves and their bodies.
Our therapists work with women and young adults across a range of concerns, with particular expertise in body image, eating disorders, anxiety, perfectionism, motherhood, and major life transitions.
Eating Disorder & Disordered
Eating Therapy
When thoughts about food, weight, or eating start taking up too much mental space, it can be difficult to focus on much else.
The Collective provides specialized eating disorder therapy for individuals navigating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), disordered eating, chronic dieting, food anxiety, orthorexia, and eating disorder recovery.
Rather than focusing on food behaviors alone, therapy explores what may be happening underneath them, from anxiety and perfectionism to self-worth, control, relationships, and past experiences.
Our goal is to help you build a more flexible, peaceful relationship with food while developing the tools and self-trust needed for lasting recovery.
Body Image Therapy
You don’t need an eating disorder to struggle with your body.
Body image concerns can show up as constant comparison, avoiding photos, feeling uncomfortable in clothes, checking or criticizing your appearance, struggling with changes in your body, or believing you need to look different before you can fully participate in your life.
Body image therapy helps you explore where those beliefs came from and how they affect the way you see and treat yourself.
Together, we work toward reducing body criticism, strengthening self-worth, and building a relationship with your body that allows for more acceptance, flexibility, and freedom.
Anxiety & Perfectionism Therapy
Anxiety isn’t always obvious.
It can look like overthinking, people-pleasing, difficulty making decisions, constantly preparing for what could go wrong, struggling to rest, or feeling like nothing you accomplish is ever quite enough.
For many, anxiety and perfectionism become intertwined with work, relationships, food, body image, parenting, and self-worth.
Therapy can help you understand these patterns, develop practical strategies for managing anxiety, and loosen the pressure to constantly control, achieve, or get everything right.
Infertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum &
Motherhood Therapy
Trying to become a mother and becoming one can bring emotions and identity shifts that are difficult to anticipate.
Infertility, pregnancy, postpartum life, and motherhood can affect your mental health, relationships, body image, sense of identity, and expectations of yourself.
Therapy provides a space to talk honestly about fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum anxiety, changing relationships, body changes, overwhelm, and the pressure to be the kind of mother you think you “should” be.
Our goal is to help you navigate these transitions while staying connected to yourself, not just the roles you’re carrying.
Life Transitions, Identity & Self-Worth
Sometimes there isn’t one clear problem. Something in your life has changed, and you’re trying to figure out who you are within it.
Career changes, relationships, marriage, motherhood, aging, changing bodies, family dynamics, college transition, and other major transitions can bring questions about identity, confidence, and what you want your life to look like.
Therapy creates space to understand what’s changing, challenge patterns of self-criticism, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Teen & Adolescent Therapy
The teenage years can bring big emotions, changing relationships, and enormous pressure on appearance and belonging.
Teens may struggle with anxiety, body image concerns, disordered eating, perfectionism, and self-esteem. The pressure to get everything “right” is everywhere. Sometimes these struggles are easy to recognize. Other times, they show up as irritability, withdrawal, or. changes in eating habits.
Therapy provides adolescents with a supportive space to explore what they’re experiencing, better understand their emotions, and develop tools to navigate challenges with confidence and self-trust. Family involvement can also help parents better understand what’s happening. The goal is to help teens feel seen, build a healthier relationship with themselves, and develop skills that support their emotional well-being as they grow.
